What does advanced purchase fare and web fare mean for greyhound?

I read up a little about it but I'm still confused. My boyfriend's parents are supposed to order my ticket sometime but I remember for an advanced purchase that you have to order it a certain time before departure or something like that. Can someone explain it to me in easiest terms?
