I was asked if I believe in the 'Mother God'?

I was walking in SoHo, back to my apartment earlier this morning, and I was stopped on the street by these two guys in suits, and one asked me if I'm a Christian. I said yes, and then I said I was Catholic. They asked me if I believe in the Mother God, and I got pretty confused and a little nervous. One of them asked me if I believe in the Holy Trinity - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. I, again replied yes, but then one said, "Do you believe in the Mother God?" I had no idea what they were talking about, so that's what I told them. I said I was late for meeting someone so I left.. :P I'm tolerant of all religions, but this question scared me. I was nervous and really confused, what were these men talking about? Who could this "Mother God" be? Your answers mean a lot, I need your help! Thanks <3 :)
