Is Handsworth, Birmingham, where Soho House is, a rough area to visit?

Writing as a "neutral" who has never lived in Handsworth but has worked there, my advice is quite simple. If you must visit Soho House go there during daytime. Many older Brummies (and I am not Birmingham born but have lived here since 1958) feel that certain areas of their city have been taken over by members of the ethnic minority community who are now in the majority. And Handsworth is one of them. Most of the inhabitants of Handsworth are not white and the area has more than its share of gangs, drug dealing and armed crime.
